What happens when you take an Texan biker, and put him behind a tech support number?

You get tales of idiocy, or course...

best call of the day...guy from Shreveport La calls in..and says FUCK you and Timewarner!!! and hangs up. total calltime 4 seconds...dropping my handle time from avg 10 min to 8 for the day. they whip us to get calltimes DOWN in the name of the almighty dollar...all tech support anywhere is in a call time limit and they wanna GET RID of YOU as FAST as they can...whether or not your problems solved. Some guys move up faster and know MUCH less than i do about actual troubleshooting..because they have MASTERED PUNTING callers....punting is dumping someone into yet another holding que or sending them to another affiliate in order to reduce your calltime..like i told ya earlier one guy i knew got his calltime so good it was better than anyone on his entire team...even the team leader...until they found out he was just TRANSFERRING callers to other places and not even talking to them..or in some cases actually HANGING UP on them (800 or so i heard)
If you get a decent tech (good luck on that lol) and are civil you might actually get some help but cop an attitude and most will either punt you or in some cases even baffle the less experienced with bullshit convincing them its THEIR problem and they need a new pc or any number of unlikely things.

you wouldnt belive the people who call in...tell me their hard drive melted,,,and they had it replaced...and ask me where all their email and addresses and programs are...they cant accept its all GONE..like we had them copied or what??? they are offended.."what do you mean you dont have my addressbook???" "i lost so many contacts and important letters" wise up fools ever hear of BACKUP???

today i gotta call from a woman who couldnt browse...doh she didnt have a browser....i led her to c drive in search of IE...after all it was win98 it hadda have IE i thought...i said ok now double click program files and...there was NO PROGRAM FILES...infact no nothing except a folder that said "my files"..apparently her old mom had..in a DESPERATE ATTEMPT to RID herself of the insanely annoying " Bonzai Buddy" gone into ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in control panel and REMOVED EVERYTHING THERE!!! i mean everything too...and to make it more fun all she had was a compaq restore disc...time to format hehe its hosed i told her....oh yea..one little tray item remained...the BONSAI BUDDY :-)
