The idea for the Commando interview came out of a desire to hear what the average man (or woman) has to say about the world. I'm getting kinda tired of the web filling with interviews with famous people. I don't know about you, but and interview with an actor or a programmer are kinda hard for me to identify with.
And knowing that the bulk of the interesting people in the populace aren't famous, it only makes sense to listen to what they have to say. But the thing is, if you have a famous person, you can ask them questions about whatever it is that they are famous for. You can't do that with an interesting person from the general populace. That's where the fun part comes in. If you are interviewing people who are not yet famous, and even better, don't tell them that the interview is coming, and promise to keep their identities secret, you get some neat and interesting, and sometimes humourous insights into someone. After all, how long can you just read my blutherings?
